Terrascapes, based in Needham and Sherborn, MA, specializes in installing and maintaining residential landscapes in the MetroWest Boston suburbs, including Needham, Wellesley, Newton, Dover, Sherborn, Milton, Concord, and Lexington. We are currently seeking passionate individuals with a love for horticulture, design, and the environment to join our gardening team.

Available Positions:

1.Entry-Level Gardener

Qualifications:

  • Some previous work experience (preferred in Horticultural-related field)
  • Undergraduate degree (or equivalent additional work experience)
  • Attention to detail and high degree of responsibility
  • Team player and good work ethic
  • Strong references

Responsibilities:

  • Garden Maintenance: (prune, deadhead, cutback, plant, weed, mulch, watering, stake, pest repelling)
  • Driving: some jobs may require driving a small to mid-size vehicle to the sites. You may also be driving directly to jobs.
  • Timeliness & Work Ethic: (Ability to work 8-9 hours per day, arrive on time and stick to schedule throughout the day. Ability to work in a collaborative environment.
  • Typical Starting Rate:
  • $23-25/hr

2. Gardener/Horticulturist

Qualifications

  • Mid-level gardeners will have:
  • 3+ years professional horticultural experience as a Fine Gardener
  • 2 or 4 year degree in horticulture or closely related field
  • Strong plant identification skills
  • Proficient in use of a broad array of gardening tools
  • Industry certifications are a big plus: MCH, AOLCP, MLP, MDAR Pesticide Applicator License, etc.
  • Clean driving record and reliable car
  • Ability to work outdoors
  • Ability to lift 40lbs

Responsibilities

  • Garden Maintenance: (report plant health issues, execute decisions about plant care)
  • Client Communications: (on-site point person and some communication via phone/email)
  • Administrative meetings (discuss schedule, brainstorm solutions for either day-to-day operations improvements or client specific issues)
  • Team Lead: (Lead 1-2 person team with instruction)
  • Other Responsibilities: (report supply needs, personnel issues)

Typical Starting Rate: $26-29/hr
