The Massachusetts Association of Landscape Professionals adopted the following Code of Ethics in order that the public will have increased confidence in the integrity of the professional landscape industry. As a member, we agree to abide by the following code:
To maintain and promote the highest standards of public service and conduct, by placing the interest, concerns, and needs of our customers above our own.
To acknowledge that our industry has a special relationship with nature and therefore to strive to improve the environment through quality landscape practices.
To provide safe and well maintained vehicles and equipment to ensure the safety and well being of our crews and the public at the work site, in transportation, and at the company headquarters.
To operate our business beyond reproach by providing the proper Liability and Workers Compensation Insurance coverage required by law.
To progress in our qualifications and proficiency as a member of the industry and to provide ongoing training and education to employees in safe and proper landscape management and construction techniques.
To avoid and condemn any practice which might bring discredit to our industry.
To maintain a reputation for fair and honorable conduct with clients, employees, and suppliers.
To improve and advance our industry through improving our qualifications, encouraging re-search and exchanging information and experiences.
To abide by laws & regulations affecting the industry and to promote their enforcement. To acknowledge that governmental and recognized standards are the mutual responsibility of the product manufacturer and user.
To observe the Bylaws of the Association and to give ourselves freely for the advancement of its objectives.
