Fine Garden Foreman

Artisan Land Care is a Division of Land Design Associates. Our fast-growing team is looking for a dedicated foreman to lead a crew of gardeners. You will provide niche gardening to a premium class of customers in the Cohasset/Hingham/Norwell area. Our company is known for the highest level of professionalism and expertise in creating and maintaining extraordinary properties on the South Shore. As our ideal candidate, you share our passion for landscapes and advanced plant care. This full time, seasonal position (mid-March thru mid-December) offers opportunities for growth and an extensive benefits package.

Responsibilities:

  • Working with the Operations Manager and the Account Manager in the field, and having the ability to independently lead a small crew (2-6 members)

  • Collaborating with the Operations Manager and the Account Manager to create work plans and ensure they are followed to meet and exceed customers' expectations

  • Performing daily site walkthroughs with crews to ensure quality and service expectations are met

  • Communicating with clients while offering exceptional customer service

  • Providing comprehensive care for landscapes including fine gardening, weeding, pruning, plant bed amendments and monitoring of plant health 

  • Providing spring and fall clean-ups with mulching of plant beds

  • Planting small trees, shrubs, perennial, annuals, seasonal containers and holiday decor

  • Applying organic fertilizer as needed

  • Mowing small sections of lawn with battery mower

  • Utilizing time tracking software with mobile apps in the field (Aspire) and tracking materials while on site

  • Providing on-going training and support for crew members

Requirements:

  • Possesses considerable horticultural knowledge of plants and plant care

  • 3+ years working with a landscape company doing similar highly professional fine gardening Possesses excellent communication skills with team members and clients, ability to follow through

  • Is hard working, ethical, efficient, self-motivated, detail-oriented, friendly and professional, a positive team member

  • Is able to manage a small crew

  • Is able to lift 50 pounds

  • Possesses a valid drivers license and has a DOT Medical Card or is willing to obtain one

Salary based on experience: $29-$31/hr. OT available, No weekends
