Commercial Business Development Manager Role:
The Commercial Business Development Manager is responsible for increasing revenue and profit as a result of the development and implementation of an effective marketing campaign, outside business to business sales, networking, prospect and customer relationship building; performs other work as required.

Essential Function Examples
1. Achieves sales goals by developing relationships with potential clients, identifying (prospecting and hunting) opportunities, proposing (bidding / RFP’s) and closing commercial landscape contracts. Drives results.
2. Works with management to develop strong marketing plans to support revenue and profit goals. Completes in-house marketing training course(s), able to follow sales and marketing outline for: Lead Generators, Nurturing Campaigns, Landing Pages, etc.
3. Prepares and manages sales budgets and forecasts.
4. Develop strong client relations with exemplary levels of customer service and communication resulting in a high level of client satisfaction and retention.
5. Attends networking events with trade organizations ie: BOMA, participates in panels / groups and develops new business contacts.
6. Provides horticultural expertise to identify, estimate, and sell commercial maintenance contracts.
7. Able to identify our preferred client and non-preferred clients / properties by effectively prospecting.
8. Able to perform contract negotiations and overcome objections.
9. Learn and become proficient with Aspire Software, which we use for estimating, scheduling, purchasing, etc. Tracks proposals, contacts and leads through Aspire’s CRM.
10. Promotes the company on how we solve our clients’ problems both in-person and on social media.
11. Generates and maintains a marketing calendar.
12. Contribute to our company by sharing ideas, strategies, and challenges.
Qualification Requirements
- At least three (4) years of professional sales, marketing and estimating, horticulture, landscape, customer service, relationship building, production management, training, similar to that presented above.
- Leadership and experience in the commercial landscape industry will be given priority.
- Self-driven to develop personal knowledge to grow and improve skills and expertise.
- Massachusetts Certification Landscape Professional (MCLP) certification is a plus.
- Valid driver’s license required.
