Conifers are unique, versatile, and often misunderstood plants – they are far more than the landscape “blobs” of the past. Conifers can serve the same function as perennials and shrubs, as well as provide focal points and canopies in the garden. We’ll look at interesting conifer cultivars with an eye toward the sustainable and aesthetic benefit they offer today’s landscape professional. Consider the benefit of conifers as critical drought tolerant and heat resistant plants, as well as beautiful sculptural elements in the modern landscape.

About our speaker:

Christie Dustman is an MCLP and Certified Landscape Designer who started her small landscape design, maintenance, and installation company 23 years ago. She has been honored with numerous design awards and teaches at many venues including the Arnold Arboretum, the Garden Federation, garden clubs, the Boston Flower Show and on the national stage. Her personal garden has been showcased on national tours. Her expertise has been featured often in Fine Gardening Magazine and other publications.
