Native Plants for New England Gardens

There is a groundswell of interest in using native plants to enhance ecological value, add year-round beauty, and bolster biodiversity in the garden. But which plants should be used where, and how? Mark Richardson, co-author of the essential reference Native Plants for New England Gardens will share his expert (and realistic) advice on choosing the best herbaceous plants, shrubs and trees for your clients’ landscape, along with guidance on where to plant them and how to care for them.

Mark Richardson is the Director of Horticulture at Tower Hill Botanic Garden in Boylston, MA. Prior to this new position, Mark served as Botanic Garden Director at the New England Wild Flower Society. He is co-author of a new book entitled Native Plants for New England Gardens. With degrees in Horticulture and Public Horticulture, Mark has a unique combination of strategic vision, skills, and experience. His background includes nursery management, and several positions in public gardens, including Longwood Gardens and Brookside Gardens.
